About Us

The Story Behind Villa Sungai Sawah

Discover how our love for Bali inspired a unique retreat.

Our story with Villa Sungai Sawah began in 2022, when we came to Bali looking for a place to stay for our family. The villa we had originally booked turned out to be far from what we had expected neglected, damp and affected by mould. Finding a comfortable and well-maintained place to stay was not as easy as we had hoped.

Then we discovered Villa Sungai Sawah.

The villa had just been completed and from the moment we walked in, it felt different. It was fresh, clean and gave us an immediate sense of comfort. After living here for a few months, we fell in love with the villa and decided to make it our own.

Over time, we made a number of changes to make the villa even more comfortable and enjoyable for our family.

Having experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to find a beautiful, clean and comfortable place to stay in Bali, we wanted to make that search easier for others.

That is why we are happy to share Villa Sungai Sawah with other families a place where you can simply arrive, feel at home and enjoy your time in Bali.

Enjoy your own private swimming pool surrounded by a lush tropical garden. The covered poolside area offers a large comfortable sofa where you can relax in the shade, with a ceiling fan keeping the space cool and comfortable. There is also an outdoor shower, perfect for rinsing off after a swim or cooling down on a warm Bali day. A wonderful space to relax, swim and spend time together as a family.

Spacious Living Areas

The villa offers a large, fully equipped kitchen with a generous island and seating, making it a lovely place to cook and enjoy breakfast together. By the window, a comfortable sofa provides the perfect spot to sit down with a book. The cosy dining table is ideal for family meals, while the separate seating area with TV offers a relaxed space to unwind at the end of the day.

Perfect for Families

The villa has two comfortable bedrooms, each with a double bed, plus a separate children’s bedroom with a triple bunk bed. The bunk bed sleeps two children downstairs and one child upstairs, making it an ideal setup for families travelling with up to three children.

The villa is located in a peaceful neighbourhood, while still being close to everything. By scooter, you can easily reach the beach or the centre of Canggu in just 10–15 minutes.

Our children absolutely loved the swimming pool. Everything is easily accessible by scooter, and there are some really great local warungs nearby that we already miss.

The location is great — tucked away in a quiet street, while still being centrally located, so you can easily head out and enjoy everything the area has to offer.

Communication with the owners whenever we had questions was effortless. They were incredibly quick to respond, helpful and very friendly.
